Jasmine Swanson tries to light husband on fire in Clinton, officials say

(WJLA) - A Prince George's County woman was arrested after threatening and trying to set her husband on fire on New Year's Eve in one of three unrelated cases of arson in a 24 hour period.

Prince George's County Fire official say that Jasmine Rebecca Swanson was charged with first and second degree arson and attempted murder after she tried to set her husband alight at their home in the 12200 block of Broken Lance Court.

Swanson, 54, was being held on $100,000 bond.

In the second incident, a Temple Hills man was charged with arson and burglary after he allegedly committed both at a Beechwood Drive home on Dec. 31. Donnell Townsend was also arrested and held on $100,00 bond.

Finally, just after midnight on Jan. 1, a 19-year-old Berwyn Heights woman allegedly set a pile of clothes on fire inside a Quebec Street home. That suspect, Simona Hilda Guzman-Rodriguez, was arrested.
