(WJLA) - An Arizona man died on Metro's Red Line Wednesday afternoon after suffering a heart attack, according to a report in The Washington Post.

The 67-year-old man became ill and then unresponsive as his Glenmont-bound train pulled into Union Station just after 5:30 p.m. Emergency responders performed CPR on the scene and later transported the man to a nearby hospital. The man was pronounced dead just after 6:30 p.m.

The emergency response did create some delays on the Red Line, where trains were forced to single-track around Union Station.
