Marines delay fitness requirements for women after half don't pass pull-up test
(WJLA) - The United States Marine Corps is delaying a new fitness standard for women after more than half couldn't meet one of its requirements.
Officials say that more than half of the women in Marine boot camps couldn't meet a new three pull-up requirement. The standard was supposed to take effect on New Year's Day.
Each of the American military's service branches are preparing to open thousands of combat roles to women in 2016.
