Oxon Hill SUV crash kills two
OXON HILL, Md. (WJLA) - Two people died early Monday morning when the car they were traveling in lost control and rolled over in Prince George's County.
A county police spokesman said that a red SUV was traveling in the northbound lanes of Indian Head Highway when it lost control, careening off of a bridge and landing on its roof on Oxon Hill Road. Two passengers, a male and a female, were pronounced dead on the scene. A third passenger was transported to a nearby hospital in serious condition.
The victims are identified as 45-year-old James Monroe Henderson of Alexandria and 30-year-old Aayoni Williams, also of Alexandria.
All lanes in both directions of Oxon Hill Road between National Harbor and Indian Head Highway were closed for several hours following the accident, but the road has since been reopened to traffic.
