Prince George's County speed camera bill to be withdrawn
(WJLA) - The Maryland state delegate who proposed expanding speed camera enforcement in Prince George's County is withdrawing that bill in favor of one that will cover the entire state, the Gazette reports.
Del. Dereck Davis, a Democrat whose district covers a large portion of southern Prince George's County, pitched a bill last week that would have turned speed cameras on around the clock. Currently, state law dictates that the cameras can only be enforced on weekdays between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m.
The cameras can only be placed in school zones as well, according to the law.
