Slick roads cause multiple accidents in D.C., Maryland, Virginia

(WJLA) - Slick spots caused several accidents across the D.C. area Friday morning.

In Laurel, twelve cars were involved in an accident at Route 198 and the BW Parkway. It happened at about 8:30 a.m. Luckily, there were no injuries. Anne Arundel County Police say they responded to more than 70 accidents Friday morning.

On U.S. 50 at Whitehall Road just before Bay Bridge, a jeep ran off the road and slid up a telephone pole. The driver was not hurt.

In D.C., a multiple accident slowed traffic on North Capitol and Irving Street, NW Friday morning. Six or seven cars were involved.

According to ABC7 traffic reporter Amanda Meadows, Anne Arundel County and Warrenton also saw a significant number of accidents due to black ice,
