Body of missing Va. officer Kevin Quick found
(WJLA) - A Waynesboro reserve police officer, who was reported missing last week, is dead, police say.
A man's body found in Goochland County Thursday has been positively identified as Kevin Wayne Quick, 45, of Rockfish, Va.
Thursday evening, three people were taken into custody in Prince William County in connection with Quick's death.
Halisi Uhuru, Leslie Casterlow and Anthony Stokes Jr. have been charged with principle in 2nd degree to the crime of murder. Corinne Geller with the Virginia State Police said Friday the suspects have not been charged with murder, "but in association with his death."
Earlier this week, a brother and sister from Albemarle County were arrested and charged in the theft of Quick's vehicle, which was found abandoned Monday.
Mersadies Shelton and Daniel Mathis are charged with possession of stolen property and grand larceny.
A third sibling, Shantai M. Shelton, 24, was arrested on an unrelated outstanding arrest warrant from Louisa County.
The three were arrested in a hotel in Alexandria.
Quick had been missing since late Friday evening. He was last seen at his mother's Afton, Va. home. According to police, Quick left the home around 10:15 p.m. and was reported missing when he didn't show up at a party he had planned for his younger brother.
