Frederick Co. infant's death investigated
JEFFERSON, Md. (AP) - Frederick County authorities are investigating the death of a 3-month old boy.
The county sheriff's office says the boy died Monday at Children's National Medical Center in Washington. Deputies and emergency services were called to Picnic Woods Road in Jefferson on Sunday for an unresponsive infant. He was initially taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital and was later flown to Children's National Medical Center.
Sheriff's office spokeswoman Sgt. Jennifer Bailey says there were no visible injuries when police arrived. She says two adults were home at the time and the baby's father called 911. Bailey says there were no previous calls for service at that address.
The infant's death is being investigated by the Frederick County Bureau of Investigation and an autopsy is planned Tuesday.
No charges have been filed.
