Ice complicates travel for cars, trains, airlines
WASHINGTON (AP) - Icy conditions are making travel tricky in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Baltimore-Washington International Airport reports some flights delayed or cancelled Wednesday. Washington's two major airports say travelers should expect significant disruptions through the morning.
The National Weather Service reports two-tenths of an inch of ice in Baltimore, and a half-inch in northern Carroll County. Maryland State Police say there are downed tree limbs everywhere in Carroll County.
State police Cpl. David Most says minor accidents have been "too numerous to count" in Frederick County. He says Route 26 near Mount Pleasant is shut down in both directions due to power lines on the road.
The Maryland Transit Administration says MARC Brunswick line service has resumed after a train hit a tree across the tracks earlier Wednesday.
