Ice preperations in Virginia, Maryland
(WJLA) - Salt trucks in Maryland worked throughout the night to keep roads from getting too icy. More than 1400 trucks were deployed throughout the state.
In most places, there's still snow on the ground, on power lines and on tree limbs, which could cause outages if the ice gets too thick. Tuesday, people stocked up on groceries, gas and generators in an effort to stay ahead of the storm.
The Virginia Department of Transportation says it also has about 1400 trucks in Northern Virginia preparing the roads with salt.
Road officials in both states have the exact same advice for drivers; if you don't have to go out Wednesday morning - don't.
