Maryland candidate filing deadling is 9 p.m. Tuesday
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - The deadline to file a candidacy for elected office in Maryland is approaching.
The deadline is 9 p.m. Tuesday. After that, voters will have a clearer idea of who is running for different offices. Declared candidates have until Thursday to withdraw.
The primary is scheduled for June 24. All 188 seats in the Maryland General Assembly will be decided in November.
This year's election will also determine a new governor in Maryland. Democratic Gov. Martin O'Malley is term limited.
Statewide offices such as attorney general and comptroller also will be on the ballot.
