(WJLA) - This year's Potholepalooza will kick off on March 20, weather permitting, D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray announced Wednesday.

During the annual 30-day campaign, crews from the District Department of Transportation will work hard to repair potholes across the city. DDOT has already filled over 9,000 potholes this winter. That compares to less than half that number for January and February of last year.

Residents are encouraged to report potholes, including the precise location and quadrant of the city as well as the approximate size and depth of the pothole. DDOT crews will also be out and about identifying potholes.

To report a pothole, call 311, visit 311.dc.gov, tweet @DDOTDC, email potholepalooza@dc.gov, visit the campaign's Facebook page, or use the DC311 smartphone app.

DDOT aims to repair identified potholes within 48 hours.
