(WJLA) - The Washington Redskins have named Super Bowl XXII MVP Doug Williams a front office personnel executive.

The Redskins announced monday that the franchise has hired former quarterback Doug Williams as a personnel executive. Williams, who led the Redskins to a 42-10 win over Denver in Super Bowl XXII, was named the game's MVP.

The team announced the hire in a press release Monday, reuniting Williams with the team he led to a Super Bowl championship in 1988. Off the field, Williams spent eight years working in NFL front offices in Jacksonville and Tampa Bay, along with stints as a position coach, coordinator and head coach at the collegiate level and in NFL Europe. With the Buccaneers, Williams worked under current Redskins general manager Bruce Allen.

"It's great to be home again,” Williams said in the release. “It also is great to be affiliated with a GM and coach who are so focused and dedicated to winning. I have only one mission: to help this team obtain the talent it needs so the fans can experience the Super Bowl they deserve."
