Video appears to show Rice, fiancee at casino
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) - A video appears to show Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice dragging his prone fiancee out of a casino elevator.
Rice and Janay Palmer each have been charged with simple assault stemming from an altercation early Saturday at Revel in Atlantic City. A police spokeswoman tells The Press of Atlantic City the case has been referred to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.
The video released by TMZ Sports shows a man dragging a woman out of the elevator and placing her on the ground. He tries to pull her to her feet, before the video ends.
Rice's attorney tells the newspaper the video was "obviously edited."
Rice starred for Rutgers and has played for Baltimore since 2008, and helped them win the Super Bowl in 2013.
