ROCKVILLE, Md. (WJLA) - On Sunday the high temperature in DC topped 60. So for some it was tough to believe snow was coming to the area, but for others, it wasn't.

"No, not at all. Around here the weather changes like a heartbeat," said Chris Bacher of Arlington.

In the DC area, more rain was expected the further south and east you go, and more snow was expected the further north and west you go.

The city of Frederick was expecting more snow than many other parts of the DC area, and Sunday night many there were taking a wait and see approach.

Remi Stavish said she would be checking Monday morning to see if she would get a message announcing either a delay or closing at her community college.

"I guess I'll wait for that," she said. "And if not, I guess I'll just go to school and work."

The Maryland State Highway Administration said it planned to have its crews come in early Monday morning and wait until expected rain showers started changing over to frozen precipitation.

At that point, the SHA planned to have its crews immediately start salting the roads.
