Elyse Gazewitz drops her case to get Armani back
(WJLA) - A Montgomery County woman says she's dropping her case to get her monkey back.
In 2007, the county seized Elyse Gazewitz's monkey, Armani. After a court battle, a judge ordered Armani returned.
But in August, Gazewitz says she turned Armani over to a monkey rescue group, as she was recovering from surgery and could not take care of him. The group, American Primate Haven, said Gazewitz had signed paperwork relinquishing ownership of Armani at that time.
Gazewitz's had been attempting to get the monkey back, but told ABC7 Monday morning that she's dropping her case out of love for Armani.
