Friday is Pi Day!
(CNN/WJLA) -- Today isn't just any old Friday -- it's also Pi Day.
March 14, or 3-14, is a date celebrated each year by math enthusiasts and number fans across the world.
It's based on the first three numbers of pi, or 3.14, which represents the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter.
While 3.14 are pi's first three digits, the number goes on and on, forever, as far as we know.
Computers have calculated pi to its two-quadrillionth digit -- but when it comes to this number, truly, the pi's the limit.
Today might be a good day for D.C. Metro area folks to visit their favorite bakery, as many "pie" bakers are likely to be offering some special treats in honor of the occasion.
