Monday not a snow day for everyone

WASHINGTON (WJLA) - Monday was a snow day for many, but not everyone.

A few restaurant workers in Georgetown struggled in the snow to transfer food and supplies between two sister restaurants.

It was a little easier for cab driver Omar Ibrahim, who didn't mind being behind the wheel despite the slick road conditions. There is no doubt the $15 snow emergency fee helped as well.

"I did not have any problems," he said. "I'm OK with it, but I have a nice car."

While federal workers weren't required to report to work, their comrades at the Postal Service didn't get such a break. You would think having to unload an entire truck during the winter storm would be a nightmare, but it's something Sylvester Johnson is used to. After all, he's been doing it for 16 years.

"Keep the snow and ice off the ramps and everything, make sure the floor is dried at all times," he said.
