Prince George's County firefighters battled two big house fires Sunday.
One was on Melody Turn in Bowie where no one was hurt.

The second fire was at a home on Adrian Street in New Carrollton. And that one was more challenging for firefighters because there was so much stuff inside the home.

The owner of the home on Adrian Street was asleep when he woke to the smell of smoke. He ran to his neighbors' home for help.

One firefighter suffered minor burns to his face and was taken to the hospital.

After firefighters knocked out the blaze, they then worked to clear some stuff from the house as the owner watched nearby.

Animal Control carried cages into the backyard to rescue several rabbits living back there. Some died in the fire.

Neighbors are worried for the owner, who is now without a home.
