Recall: Salad blend sold in Giant and Martin's grocery stores

(WJLA) -- Following a recall by Dole Fresh Vegetables, Inc., Giant grocery stores and Martin's food markets announced a voluntary recall of a salad blend due to "potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes."

Dole Italian Salad Blend products with a certain use-by date and UPC number are being recalled by Giant and Martin's grocery stores.

The item being recalled is Dole Italian Blend Salad Mix, 10 oz., with a use-by date of March 12, 2014. The specific UPC number is 7143000819.

To date, neither Giant or Martin's have reported any illnesses related to the product.

In a company statement, representatives said, "Customers who have purchased the product should discard any unused portions and bring their purchase receipt to Giant or Martin's for a full refund."
