ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WJLA) - A combination of still-snowy roads, bitter cold temperatures and road closures made Tuesday's commute a tough one for the Washington area.

While some roads remain snow-covered, plows trucks have largely cleared most of Monday's snow away. Schools and offices that were closed or on two-hour delays earlier in the week are mostly back open, although cold temperatures has allowed snow to stick around in areas where it has not been cleared.
