Charles Palmer sentenced in animal abuse case
(WJLA) - A D.C. man convicted of multiple counts of severe animal abuse was sentenced Friday to 25 months in prison.
Charles Palmer pleaded guilty to two felony counts and one misdemeanor count of cruelty to animals and one count of misdemeanor assault. Authorities say Palmer is a serial animal abuser. He beat ten dogs. three of those dogs died.
As part of his sentence, Palmer will not be allowed to own any animals. He was also given three years probation.
The Washington Humane Society says the charges against Palmer were filed after a 20 month investigation which began back in 2012.
