D.C. police: man stabbed within blocks of Cherry Blossom Parade

Washington, D.C. (AP/WJLA) - Police say a man was stabbed near the National Mall a few blocks from the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade route.

The incident was reported just after 11 a.m. Saturday near 2nd Street and Constitution Avenue. The parade was underway at the time on Constitution Avenue.

The man was transported to a local hospital for treatment, police say.

Police haven't released a description of the suspect.
