FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (WJLA) - Fairfax County Public Schools teachers could get salary increases as early as this fall under a new budget plan from superintendent Karen Garza.

Garza presented the budget to the Fairfax County School Board on Monday. In the plan, Garza estimated that schools would get around $30 million in additional revenue from the state that would cover the gap in the schools budget, according to the Washington Post.

Garza proposed delaying salary raises for about 75 percent of all eligible employees until November 2014, as well as waiving the testing fees for students taking advanced classes.

Certain aspects of the plan were not received well by some school board members, with some expressing concern about employee salaries being affected in order to compensate for the shortfall in the budget.
