Arch Campbell Show: 'Godzilla' and 'Million Dollar Arm'

(WJLA) - Godzilla fights two flying creatures in hopes of knocking them out before they mate. These bad birds destroy several cities, courtesy the latest in computer graphics.

Brian Cranston stars, but be warned - he dies early on. Cranston's a nuclear power plant manager who suspects a cover-up. The hard work falls to his son, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, a bomb expert whose skills help the Navy, who cooperated with the production.

As a thank-you, "Godzilla" director Gareth Edwards hosted a Washington premiere for military families.

"Godzilla" goes long on story, but short on monster - too much talking, not enough scaly smackdown. So, 2 1/2 stars out of four. Next time, show me the monster.

Jon Hamm's PG-rated "Million Dollar Arm" wins best new movie honors. The feel-good, true story of a sports agent's search for the next great baseball pitcher in India.

A weekend best bet, along with "Belle," "Locke," and "The Other Woman."
