(WJLA) - With a badly bruised and battered face, 27-year-old Jeremy Gordon fights back tears as he describes the injuries that came at the hands of Metro Transit Police.

At about 5:30 p.m. on Sunday evening along this stretch of Suitland Parkway near Anacostia Metro station, he says he suddenly saw flashing lights – then flying fists.

“They threw me to the ground, they handcuffed me -- this is what I have to show for following the instructions of the law," he said.

Gordon says he did nothing wrong, and adds that he follows the letter of the law every day. Gordon says he was beaten and pepper-sprayed, adding that as many as 10 officers responded – one in particular allegedly inflicting the most damaging blows:

"I'm being pulled from my car and thrown to the ground handcuffed and look at my eye, my eye is damaged. I can't even feel my face right now...the nerves in my face, they're damaged."

But the complaining officer states that he pulled Gordon over for “weaving in and out of traffic,” and that Gordon became combative as “a brief struggle ensued.” He also added that Gordon seemed aggressive and appeared intoxication.

The report finishes with: “The defendant was taken to the ground where he sustained lacerations to his left eye and bottom lip.”

Gordon’s girlfriend says she spoke with him just moments before the incident, and says he had just gotten off work and was in good spirits. She dismisses claims that he was drunk in any way. Meanwhile, Gordon insists that all he did was change lanes.

"I want justice...everyone needs to apologize to him, he is a good man," says girlfriend Bernice Victor.

"What did I do to deserve this?" asks Gordon. "I did nothing. If you pull me out of my car, this is almost an entrapment to police brutality. This is not right, I didn't ask for that."

Gordon is now being charged with assaulting a police officer, and says:

“It's not about race, it's not about white, black -- it's about doing right, doing what you say you supposed to be doing. I never threw a punch, I never cursed, I didn't have time to do any of that stuff..."
