Nigerian embassy protest seeks transparency, accountability in search for kidnapped girls
WASHINGTON (WJLA) - Protestors will rally Wednesday in front of the Nigerian Embassy, asking for accountability from the African nation's government as the search for the nearly 300 kidnapped girls continues.
Leaders from Act 4 Accountability, the group organizing the event, will march to mark the 30-day anniversary of the girls' kidnapping by the terrorist organization Boko Haram. On a Facebook page for the rally, its organizers said they are asking for increased transparency from the Nigerian government on search efforts, among other goals.
The rally is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and will last until 1 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at the Nigerian Embassy, 3519 International Court in Northwest Washington.
