Patrick A. Hope, Alan Howze push for public voter referendum on streetcar project
(WJLA) - Two Democrats from Arlington are pushing for a voter referendum that would decide whether Arlington County residents should have a say on the $310 million streetcar line project along Columbia Pike.
Del. Patrick A. Hope (D-47th) and Alan Howze, who is running for the Arlington County Board, say the decision of whether the line should be built should go to a public vote, according to the Washington Post.
Hope proposes the county include the referendum as an issue in the transportation bond in November or put it on the November ballot as an advisory referendum for the General Assembly.
