Power outage in Frederick County causes school delays at Thurmont schools, Catoctin High School

(WJLA) - More than 3,000 Maryland residents lost electricity Thursday morning due to a power outage caused by severe weather.

Four county schools are currently on a two-hour delay because of the outages:

- Thurmont Elementary School

- Thurmont Primary School

- Thurmont Middle School

- Catoctin High School

According to the Allegheny Power outage map, 2,114 customers are affected by the outage with 1,593 of those in Frederick County.

It is unclear when power will be restored.

As of 7:25 a.m. Thursday, the current outage numbers in the D.C. metro area are:
