Woman reportedly raped on Northwest branch jogging trail in Silver Spring Monday

(WJLA) - A woman was reportedly raped while jogging on a trail in Silver Spring on Monday, according to Montgomery County police.

The woman, who is in her mid-20s, was jogging on the Northwest branch trail near Oakview Drive around 4:15 p.m. when she was approached by a man with a knife. The man forced her off of the trail and then raped her, police said, before fleeing the scene.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male between 5'10" and 6 feet tall with short dark hair, medium build and a medium complexion. He was wearing a blue baseball cap, a white T-shirt with possible light blue logo on it and black pants.
