LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. (WJLA) -- Authorities in Loudoun County had to rescue a horse that was found stuck in a swimming pool on Tuesday.

The Sheriff's Office said it received a call for help at 8:20 a.m. from a home on Jeb Stuart Road where the stuck horse was discovered by the homeowners.

The horse, who did not belong to the homeowners, had apparently wandered into the yard and walked out onto a covered pool before getting stuck in the water.

Rescue crews were able to cut a path in the poll cover and safely remove the horse, according to a news release from the Sheriff's Office.
