Ben Chisolm, UMD lacrosse player, is suspect in case of aggravated sexual battery
(WJLA) - Benjamin Chisolm is a University of Maryland lacrosse player who is now being called a suspect in a case of aggravated sexual battery – and it is stunning news for the College Park campus.
Prince William County Police say that on Sunday night at the Jiffy Lube Live concert venue, a 49-year-old fell asleep on the lawn and woke up to find a man lying beside her and touching her inappropriately. She says that he then walked away, and has since identified 19-year-old Chisolm as the suspect.
ABC7 went to a Davidsonville home that police listed as Chisolm’s address to get his side of the story, but were told that no one wanted to talk to reporters. A spokesperson for the university sent the following statement:
"We are aware of the reported incident regarding one of our student-athletes. The university takes these matters very seriously and will cooperate with authorities during their investigation. "
Meanwhile on campus, some are hoping that the allegations just aren’t true.
