The body was found in a room at the Ramada motel, located in the 9100 block of Baltimore Avenue. PGPD have said that the case is now a murder investigation, which went well into the evening.

Detectives gathered plenty of evidence, even taking away a door. The victim's body was eventually removed from the room on the left, but investigators also spent a lot of time inside the room on the right.

"It's kind of crazy, and kind of like freaking me out right now," said one hotel guest who did not want to be identified. He is now considering checking out.

"Definitely very eerie, so yeah I would have never expected something like that," added Keith Beck.

Beck's job has put him up in the hotel for about a year, and he says it's usually fine, but he has seen what he believes are prostitution stings:

"Cops couple times in and out, but nothing like this."

A source says it was a hotel maid who found the woman's body at around 1:15 p.m. The source adds that the victim is from New York, and has a baby who was not with her.

She had reportedly stayed at the hotel on-and-off for a couple of years, and her death has left many guests at the Ramada frightened.

"Thank God we're only here until Friday, but it's actually a shocker," said guest Michael Silver.
