ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP/WJLA) - Two bicyclists have been hospitalized after being hit by a car in Anne Arundel County, and police say alcohol contributed to the crash.

Anne Arundel County police say the crash happened Saturday around 2 p.m. on Governor Ritchie Highway in Annapolis. Police say the driver of a 2011 Nissan failed to drive in a single lane and entered the right shoulder on to the Baltimore & Annapolis Trail, where she hit the bicyclists.

The bicyclists were flown by helicopter to a hospital. Police identified one of the bicyclists as 23-year-old Katie Pohler of Glen Burnie, Maryland. Police say she has life-threatening injuries. Police identified the other bicyclist as 27-year-old Todd Green of Severna Park, Maryland. Police say he is in serious condition.

On Sunday, police said Green has been released from the hospital. Pohler was still in trauma.

Police say charges are pending against the driver of the Nissan, 54-year-old Robin Colbert of Annapolis.
