LEESBURG, Va. (WJLA) -- It appears ATM skimmer thieves who struck in Fairfax County last week have now hit two more counties in northern Virginia -- this time in Loudoun and Stafford counties.
Police in Leesburg on Monday asked for the public's help in identifying the men who placed ‘skimming’ devices July 12 on Sun Trust Bank ATM machines in Leesburg's Battlefield Shopping Center and at a location in neighboring Stafford County.
Images released by police from bank surveillance cameras showed men - or possibly the same man - at the two locations. Those pictures are similar to those released by authorities in Fairfax County on Friday, where several Sun Trust Bank ATM locations also fell victim to skimmers.
Leesburg police asked anyone who might be able to identify the individuals pictured to contact Det. Chris Vogel at 703-771-4524 or via email at email@example.com.
