Today's pop-culture roundup includes the royals and Georgie Boy, a tribute to James Garner, a Star Wars tease, weekend box-office numbers, our mystery music video and much more.

PRINCE GEORGE: First steps, as well a first birthday Tuesday, per The Insider, “Prince George is a little man on the move. Prince William and Kate Middleton's royal tot has officially mastered the art of walking ahead of his first birthday on Tuesday and the proud Brits made sure to share his rapid progress. Clarence House released an official photo from the United Kingdom Press Association on Twitter on Sunday where the Buckingham baby showed off his new skill.

“In the photo, Prince George, clad in a pair of blue pinstripe overalls, a navy blue polo shirt, and matching navy booties, had his arms widespread for balance as he tottered around the Sensational Butterflies exhibition at London's Natural History Museum on July 2.” http://yhoo.it/1lj2UYW

MONTY PYTHON: Says farewell, per The Hollywood Reporter, “U.K. comedy group Monty Python’s famous dead parrot has finally been laid to rest. A sell-out 15,000 people attended the 10th and final Monty Python Live (mostly): One Down Five to Go show Sunday night, the troupe's much-feted reunion at London’s O2 Arena.

“Mike Myers and Harry Shearer were among the celebrity guests making cameos by joining Eric Idle, Michael Palin, John Cleese, Terry Jones and Terry Gilliam on stage for an emotional farewell. The show proved to be a ratings smash-hit for U.K. comedy channel Gold, which aired the final performance live. More than 700,000 individuals tuned in to watch the show, making it the highest-ever rated commission for the channel, part-owned by BBC Worldwide, the network said.” http://bit.ly/1wQzpD7

JAMES GARNER: Obit, per the Los Angeles Times, “James Garner, who died Saturday at the age of 86, was tall, handsome and athletic, all qualities that made for longevity as a leading man. Garner, a native Oklahoman, came to fame on television as the laid-back Bret Maverick in the 1950s western, went on to film stardom in the 1960s, then returned to television, most notably for an Emmy-winning run in the lighthearted detective series "The Rockford Files."

“Shifting easily between comedy and drama, imbued with a sardonic charm, Garner was part of a line of Hollywood leading men, extending back to Cary Grant and forward to George Clooney, who meld good looks, charisma and self-deprecating wit. He played almost all the standard movie and television roles — cowboy, soldier, detective, astronaut, race car driver — but put his distinctive brand on each.” http://lat.ms/1k72ZUO

FIFTY SHADES OF BEYONCE: Or something like that, per Access Hollywood, “Beyonce and "Fifty Shades of Grey"? Oh my, indeed! Bey shared a teaser video from the highly anticipated film on her Instagram on Saturday night. In the clip, Jamie Dornan's hands (Christian Grey) and Dakota Johnson's legs (Anastasia Steele) are briefly shown. The 32-year-old star can be heard singing a slowed down version of the famous "uh ohs" from her 2003 hit, "Crazy in Love" in the background, seeming to hint that a song from Bey may appear on the movie's soundtrack.” http://bit.ly/1u7SkNR

ADAM LEVINE GETS HITCHED: Marooned in Mexico, per Celebuzz!, “Adam Levine is no longer on the market, ladies and gents (insert sad kitty emoji here). The Maroon 5 singer made things official with his fiance Behati Prinsloo, tying the knot at Flora Farms in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico on Saturday evening.” http://celeb.bz/1p21vqX

INDUSTRY NEWS: Just the facts, per Deadline, “Bianna Golodryga is leaving ABC News for Yahoo, and Paula Faris is joining Good Morning America’s weekend anchor team, ABC News chief James Goldston announced this morning in a note to his staff.” http://bit.ly/1nNGTBo

WEEKEND BOX-OFFICE: Again, the apes rule, per The Wrap, “Moviegoers this weekend continued to hail Caesar, as “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” rolled to a $36 million repeat victory at the box office, holding off a challenge from the low-budget horror sequel “The Purge: Anarchy.”

“Fox's sci-fi saga of the charismatic leaders of the apes, played by motion-capture whiz Andy Serkis, has captivated critics and that, coupled with strong word of mouth, drove the big second weekend. “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” has taken in $139 million domestically, and is just the second No. 1 film to hold its title for more than a week this summer, along with “Transformers: Age of Extinction.” ’’ http://bit.ly/1jRHbfm

MEANWHILE: Star Wars tease, per Variety, “In a new video from the set of “Star Wars: Episode VII,” director J.J. Abrams showed off a first look at what Lucasfilm and Disney describe as the new X-Wing starfighter that will appear in the film. The teaser gives a good look at the one-person spacecraft, with Abrams’ vehicle — battered from battle — clearly meant to reference George Lucas’ existing sci-fi universe.” http://bit.ly/UmIeba

SKYE McCOLE BARTUSIAK: Seizures likely contributed to her death, per People, “In the days before she died Saturday at 21, Skye McCole Bartusiak had epileptic seizures, according to her mother. Bartusiak, who made a lasting impression on the big screen portraying the daughter of Mel Gibson in The Patriot (2000), first dealt with seizures as a baby, Helen McCole Bartusiak told CNN. The seizures stopped for a few years before returning last week, she said.” http://bit.ly/WyA8ON

MOVIES, WEDDINGS AND BABIES: And quite the famous couple, per Us Weekly, “Oscar-winning couple Charlize Theron and Sean Penn have a lot on their agenda during their time in her native South Africa this summer: Shoot new drama The Last Face (he's directing, she's starring); get married; adopt a child together. "They want to get married very soon," a source tells Us Weekly of the couple's wedding plans. Theron, 38, "always intended to have another child," a Penn confidante adds of the actress, already mom to adopted son Jackson, 2.” http://usm.ag/1nNuUnw
