Man accused of sexually assaulting woman at Alexandria CVS in broad daylight

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WJLA) - City of Alexandria police have arrested a man accused of sexually battering a woman in a local CVS store in broad daylight.

The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the store located at 5101 Duke Street.

Police said the suspect, identified as 25-year-old Abayneh Yemer of Alexandria, allegedly reached up the skirt of the woman and attempted to remove her underwear.

Officers responded to the scene immediately and were able to catch Yemer in the parking lot. He was arrested.

Yemer is charged with sexual battery and attempted object sexual penetration.
