2 women injured in double shooting in Southeast D.C.

WASHINGTON (WJLA) – Two women were shot in southeast D.C. early Wednesday.

Metropolitan police were called to the 3400 block of Stanton Rd. SE at approximately 12:15 a.m. and found two women suffering from gunshot wounds to their lower bodies.

Both women were conscious and breathing when they were transported to a local hospital.

It is unclear why the women were shot.

Police are still investigating the double shooting and have not released further details at this time.
