Chuck Brown's final album, 'Beautiful Life,' drops Tuesday
WASHINGTON (WJLA) - District music legend Chuck Brown's posthumous album will be released Tuesday, kicking off a week of celebration for the Godfather of Go-Go that will culminate Friday with the opening of Chuck Brown Memorial Park in northeast D.C.
The album, Brown's last, is entitled "Beautiful Life," and features cameos from rappers Doug E. Fresh and Wale and R&B singers Faith Evans and Raheem DeVaughn.
On Friday, the District will unveil Chuck Brown Memorial Park, a 33-yard chunk of Langdon Park in northeast D.C. that will include 11-foot-tall memorial images of Brown. Friday, which District Mayor Vincent Gray has declared Chuck Brown day, would have been the singer's 78th birthday.
