Police believe Knijah was an unintended victim of shots fired during a fight between two men outside the home she was in.

Police have identified the suspected shooter as Davon Antwan Wallace, 25, of East Kilmer Street in Landover. Wallace remains at large.

Detectives believe Wallace and another man engaged in an argument outside the home at 6915 Forest Terrace. Wallace then reportedly left the scene and returned with a gun, firing several shots into the home.

Knijah was hit by one of those bullets while in the building on the second floor. She was rushed to the hospital but died of her injuries.

Services for Knijah were held at the Unity Baptist Church in Northeast, where she lived.

Records indicate Wallace has a long criminal history - largely drug-related - dating back to at least 2008.
