Malcolm Paul Thomas, 54, was found and arrested in Wakefield, in Sussex County, Virginia, late Saturday evening. He remains in custody there, awaiting extradition to Prince George's County.

Prince George's County police said Thomas has admitted to two murders that took place in Oxon Hill earlier on Saturday.

According to police, officers were called to the 5500 block of Chloe Drive in Oxon Hill just before 8 a.m. on Saturday, for a welfare check. When they arrived, they found two women in the home suffering from trauma. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

The two women have been identified as 54-year-old Janice Marshall-Thomas - whom police said is Thomas' wife - and her elderly mother, 83-year-old Eunice Brooks. Police said it appears both the two victims and Thomas all lived together in the home.

"Detectives quickly developed Thomas as a suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest," Prince George's County police said in a statement.

Police ask anyone who may have information about this crime to call the Prince George's County Police Department at 301-772-4925.
