WASHINGTON (WJLA) - One of Georgetown's most popular gathering spots is closing down.
Mr. Smith's - known as "the friendliest saloon in town" - will soon close, according to general manager Juan Andino.
Andino told ABC 7 News that the saloon's Boston-based landlord is raising the establishment's rent to a level it can't afford.
The saloon will close in late August or early September.
However, Andino said Mr. Smith's hopes to relocate, preferably remaining in Georgetown section of D.C.
