NewsChannel 8 to host Maryland gubernatorial debate Oct. 13; Here's how you can participate

ARLINGTON, Va. (WJLA) – NewsChannel 8 is pleased to announce that the station will host the Washington area’s only Maryland Gubernatorial Debate on Monday, October 13th at 10 a.m. during NewsTalk with Bruce DePuyt. This hour-long debate will be co-hosted by WTOP Radio and The Washington Post.

The event will be live with Democratic candidate Anthony G. Brown and Republican candidate Larry Hogan.

WTOP’s Shawn Anderson and The Washington Post’s Jenna Johnson will join DePuyt in the questioning of the candidates.

“The campaigns chose NewsTalk for their D.C.-area debate because we’ve become the go-to place for local politics” says NewsTalk Host Bruce DePuyt. “We look forward to having a robust, informative discussion with Mr. Brown and Mr. Hogan.”

The debate can be viewed on NewsChannel 8 and it will be streamed live at news8.net and wjla.com.

The program will be rebroadcast on NewsChannel 8 on October 13th at 1 p.m., 8 p.m. and midnight.

Viewers can submit questions for the candidates prior to the debate and participate by commenting live during the broadcast by using #MDDebate on Twitter and Facebook.
