SUITLAND, Md. (WJLA) -- Police say thieves have broken into six cars at area cemeteries since June, taking advantage of people while they're mourning.
Over the past weekend officers say three cars were broken into at the Washington National Cemetery and the Lincoln Memorial Cemetery off Suitland Road during funeral services. They stole electronics, wallets and purses.
Prince George’s County Police are investigating whether the break-ins could be linked.
Police say they've since increased patrols in the area, and they're also looking into the possibility that the suspect could be following people in during the funeral processions.
