OXON HILL, Md. (WJLA) - A man was arrested late Saturday and charged with the murders of two women found dead earlier in the day in an Oxon Hill home.
Malcolm Paul Thomas, 54, of Oxon Hill, was taken into custody in Wakefield, Virginia, by the Sussex County Sheriff's Office. He was awaiting extradition early Sunday back to Prince George's County in Maryland.
The bodies of the women were discovered about 7:50 a.m. by police officers who went to the home in the 5500 block of Chloe Drive after receiving a call requesting a check on their well-being.
While authorities have not disclosed an exact cause of the women's deaths, they indicated both bodies showed signs of trauma.
Investigators, while not discussing a specific motive in the case or the connection between the suspect and the victims, said they believed the killings stemmed from a domestic dispute.
The victim's identities were not immediately released, but neighbors told ABC7 News that the owner of the apartment lived there with her adult daughter and granddaughter. A man intimately connected to the daughter was often there as well, they said.
