In an interview with Comcast SportsNet, Snyder said the team has “started the process” of designing a new stadium that he hopes will open “sooner rather than later.”

Snyder did not specify whether the new stadium would be in D.C., Maryland or Virginia, but said he wanted it to have a retro feel, like FedEx Field’s predecessor, RFK Stadium.

“I’m going to be very retro with it,” he said. “It’s gonna feel like RFK.”

The Redskins owner believes the team’s days at FedEx Field are over.

“It’s 17 years old now. So, I think it’s time for us to start looking and we’re doing it,” he said.

Snyder also has dreams that the new stadium will one day host a Super Bowl, saying, “This region deserves a Super Bowl … It’s the biggest sporting event in the globe. In the nation’s capital—it’s a no-brainer.”
