Burkman and Levine interview August 24, 2012

Last week was a long one for Mitt Romney and, until Friday, it had little to do with the candidate himself.

On Sunday, Rep. Todd Akin (R-MO) uttered the words "legitimate rape" during a TV interview. Akin (who's running against Democratic incumbent Sen. Claire McCaskill) apologized for using the word "legitimate," but did not back off of his unequivocal pro-life stance.

Romney and other high-profile members of the GOP asked Akin to step down. He stayed in the race.

Republican Strategist Jack Burkman and Democratic Strategist Mark Levine offered analysis on Capital Insider.
