President Obama selected Jack Lew to replace outgoing Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner. Lew honed his skills in the trenches of fiscal policy and helped forge major deals for the likes of former Speaker Tip O'Neil and President Bill Clinton.
The selection was criticized in some corners because Obama's potential cabinet now includes four white men.
