The F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Program is the most expensive and most ambitious U.S. plane purchase ever. It's also quite controversial. To date, the price tag for American taxpayers stands at $400 billion. The program cost much more than expected, fell behind schedule, and the jets did not perform as promised.
Mike Sullivan, director of acquisition and sourcing management issues with the Government Accountability Office, offered an update on Capital Insider.
