Labor nominee faces some GOP opposition

On Monday, President Obama nominated Assistant Attorney General Thomas Perez to be the next secretary of labor. Perez assumed control of the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division in 2009. Before that, he served as the secretary of Maryland's Department of Labor.
